How to Play DVDs on Your Wii Console Without Mod Chip ?
Wii offers a great time to anyone that wants to play games but what about those that would like to watch films or listen
to some music?
This means that Wii is not adapted to play DVDs although the hardware itself would be able to do that.
However there are two unofficial ways to play DVDs on Wii.
One way is by using Mod Chip the other way is using Softmod.
If you choose Mod Chip you have to build a separate chip or circuit into your Wii.
This is quite an expensive method not to mention the fact that you can easily damage your console and void warranty.
As for Softmod you have to install a so called Homebrew softver which makes you to be able to install DVD player programs.
This way you can play DVDs and use a Wii that offers you much more entertainment.
This is a cheap method but the installation part of it needs an expert.
Therefore some of these experts created a quick and easy installation quide with certain softwares - like
HomebreWare or
HomebrewInstaller - which can be installed easily at home and cheaper than Mod Chip itself.
